Smoky Mountain Vacation: Day 6 (Pontoon Boat)

On Thursday, the sixth day of our vacation, my dad rented us a pontoon boat and we went out for a day on a lake (I don't know the name of the lake, sorry) about 1 hour away from our cabin. It was a fun day, and warm, but not too sunny (I guess you can't win them all). The kids had an awesome time swimming in the lake with Pops, Uncle William, Uncle Jon and Dan. Thankfully the men took the hit on getting into the cold water with the kids and the moms and aunts were able to watch, take pictures and chat. It was a really great day.
Tia Tessa, Kadence, Ellie, Lily, Erinn and Jack on the boat at the dock.
Uncle William and both of his hats.
Pops let Ellie help him drive the boat. She LOVED it!
Momo bought all three girls these ballerina swim suits. The girls thought they were about the most fabulous things they had ever seen. I think they look pretty cute with their tutus hanging out under their life jackets. Note how none of the three of them has dainty ballerina legs, however.
The three girls in their suits. Too cute.
Jack wanted in on the action. From this gate the kids could: 1) see what was going on and 2) feel some splashes from the wake. Needless to say, it was a very desirable place to stand on the boat.
Kara lookin' like a dude. This picture reminds me of "Buck" from the show US of Tara. Too funny.
Tia Tess keeping an eye on the kids while they swam.
I think this might be the only picture of Dan and I together taken the whole trip.
The kids eating lunch. Kara made three batches of Mac and Cheese and put them all in a plastic pitcher to take with us on the boat. The kids used long spoons, and ate their lunch straight from the container.
Jack-Jack "driving" the boat. Such a helpful dude!
Aunt Steph and Tia Tess.
Ummm.....
Lily, Uncle Jon and Kadence swimming in the lake.
Jackie having a blast!!
Dan and Jack splashing around.

Ellie and her seed. Uncle Jon told her it was poop. She still has this seed and still calls it poop. Very classy.
Jack, Daddy and Ellie.
Uncle Jon, Kadence and Ellie.
Lily had a great time splashing Pops in the face.
Can't you just feel his joy?!
Ellie on her raft.
Kadence floating and relaxing.

Despite the cold temperatures the kids swam and played in the water for several hours. The Dads, Pops and Uncle William were really glad when it was time to head home because they were all freezing!

They did a good job, though. Here are the kids about 10 minutes into the drive back to the dock:
