Spring, if you give us 30 minutes of sun, we can Tim Gunn a trip to the park (that is, make it work).

This afternoon after both of the kids got up from their naps, the sun was shining and the temps were in the 50s (the best we've seen in over a week), so Dan and I decided a trip to the neighborhood park was in order. We called our friends the Ligettis as we walked out the door, they live in the same neighborhood, and luckily Chris, Tanner and Carsyn, decided to meet us there. Amber had to write report cards (boo!), so we'll catch her next time. Here are a few pictures of the fun we had in the 30 minutes of sun we were granted (it started hail/raining as we were leaving). But, we're not complaining. No, we're just glad we got to get outside and run around a little bit. We know spring, and then summer, will soon be here, and we are glad.

First we hit the swings. Here is Ellie smiling and swinging away.

And here's Tanner. He's learning to pump to swing himself. Great job!!

And Jack-Jack.

And Carsyn and Chris. Carsyn was such a good sport letting Ellie and Jack have the small people swings.
After the swings we hit the slides for some serious play action.

Tanner went down head first and on his back. Such a daredevil! Good thing the slide isn't too fast!

Ellie got brave and tried the steep, fast slide.

Then she tried the twisty (but slower) slide and got surprised by Chris. She thought it was hilarious when he jumped out to scare her!

Chris "scaring" Carsyn. She looks really afraid, doesn't she??

Chris got Tanner good with this attempt. Tanner had NO idea this was coming. It was classic.
After the slides Ellie, Tanner and Carsyn served food to all the patrons at the playground restaurant.

I'm not sure what she made Chris, but I'm sure it was delicious.

Jack-Jack (and everyone else) also took turns riding the duck and horse. It was a great sharing task and the kids showed off their skills beautifully - we were so proud!

Jack took a trip down the "fast" slide with Momma.

Then it started to hail/rain (see the drip on my lens?), so we had to go - dang it!!

Luckily it was a short lived shower, because we had to walk home.
Another fun trip to the park, and another fun time with our family and friends. I'm sure there are MANY, MANY more days like this in our future - at least I hope and pray that there are.
