Pagosa Springs Trip - Day 5

On Thursday we rode the Durango to Silverton Narrow Gauge train. It was a lot of fun for the kids and a little dirty and sooty for the adults. The train ride takes 3 hours, and the scenery was so beautiful. It was definitely worth a few cinders in my eyes to see the kids having so much fun and to get to see some gorgeous Colorado landscapes.
Ellie in her pink conductor hat and shades. The sunglasses were required as an attempt to keep soot out of your eyes (it worked marginally well, in my opinion).
Jack in his, more traditional, blue conductor hat.
Ellie and Uncle Jon waiting for the train to get going.
Kadence is all set with her shades!
Pops, Momo, Tia Tess, Uncle William and Deano on the train.
A gorgeous lake we saw on our ride.
The river.
A view of the engine and the mountainside we were riding along. It was a really steep fall off.
More river.
Tia Kara, Momo and Dean.
Ellie and Jack on Daddy's lap.
My kids started getting tired about 2 hours into the ride.
Tia Kara enjoying a glass of wine and the views.
Clearly Jack will sleep pretty much anywhere.
The bigger surprise was that Ellie fell asleep too.
The engine once we got off the train in Silverton, CO.
