Ellie's Birthday with the Spikes!

In case you didn't know, Ellie LOVES Spikes baseball games. The Spikes are State College's 1A Minor League baseball team, and going to Spikes games was one of Ellie's favorite summertime activities. She would ask if we could go to a Spikes game at least 3 times a week. So, when it came time to plan her 3rd birthday party, Dan and I thought it would be really fun to have her birthday party at one of the last Spikes games of the season. We decided that the August 28th game (the last weekend game of the season, and the last game with fireworks) would be perfect. Ellie (and all of her friends) had a blast! It turned out to be a really fun party, and is something we would definitely consider doing again!
Ike the Spike. Ellie has informed Dan and I that he and Mark, (a waiter at the Waffle Shop that Ellie loves) are her best friends.
See that empty knee? Picture Ellie there. She chickened out at the last minute. Thanks, Tanner, for trying to help her!!
Ellie and Daddy getting ready to go on the field to throw out the first pitch of the game.
Talking with Daddy while waiting in line (there were several birthday parties that night, so, there were several "1st" pitches).
Throwing her pitch! She got to be on the jumbo tron too (can you see them on the screen?)! It was really cool!
Reenacting the mighty throw for Momma.
Getting ready to cut the ice-cream cake from DQ!
Amber, Carsyn and Tanner liked the cake!
Zoe and Sam liked the cake!
Ellie ate some of hers, but true to form, wasn't so enthused.
Maddy and Alina Foor with Ellie.
Jack-Jack enjoying life!
Waiting with Mr. Chris for a turn in the bounce house. I think she chickened out on this, in the end, too.
Carsyn, Amber, Ellie and Jack dancing to some tunes.
Getting settled into our seats to watch some baseball!!
Snuggling with Daddy and watching the fireworks.

After the fireworks the kids could run the bases, so Ellie couldn't pass that up. Maddy, Alina and Nicholas were nice enough to go with her!
"Mom, this was a great party!!"
