Agony and Joy

To begin, this week has been both exciting and filled with new developments, and excruciating due to the pain and hard work it has taken to get there. To support this assertion, I present Exhibit A: Jack's first tooth!

Now, many of you who have been reading for awhile (all 1-2 of you!) may remember our teething experience with Ellie - you know - feeling her gums one day and finding a little tooth where previously there had been none. She didn't complain about it, and we didn't even know it was there. Now Jack, on the other hand, has had a much more difficult go of it. From vomiting to whining and crying to not sleeping, the poor child has been miserable! And this is just the first one! Hopefully the experience of teething will get easier for him over time, but yikes, this has been a difficult process. Nonetheless, we are glad that he has his first tooth! It's a really exciting milestone.

Other joyous and agonizing events this week (obviously WAY more good than bad):

Ellie and Jack-Jack played in the kitchen and read together.
Jackie and Daddy monkeyed around.
Jack-Jack crawled around the townhouse.
Ellie lined up the stacking cups in size order. She was so proud - you can see she's clapping for herself!
Ellie played dress-up.
Which quickly went down hill, and resulted in a time-out while she yelled at me to "Leave me alone!". Quick question: is she 2 or 15? At this point I'm not sure.
More agony in time-out.
That face says it all.
However, as most 2-year-olds do, she rebounded nicely and was able to enjoy a cuddle with Daddy, Jack-Jack and Dorothy (the dinosaur).
